DIY: L'Oreal HIP eyeshadow Duo "Palette"

Hello lovelies,

I know I promised to update my blog regularly but have been busy recently. It's the birthday week so I'm just thankful for another year older and wiser and enjoying my youth (lol)!!

So I pretty much just hanged with my girls for the birthday and had dinner and chilled. This weekend is my official birthday celebration (parttaayyyy!!!) plus Memorial Weekend on South Beach having major fun.

Anyways I had to share this with you all, as from my title, I was doing another project as I call it. I finally recieved my empty palette from BF-Beauty cosmetics after 2 months (whew!!, That is another story to explain). So I had worked to be done. I depotted all my L'Oreal HIP eyeshadow duos and started filling the palette with them and labeling them also. I had one of their palette from a previous haul where I purchased some single shadows from them but it wasn't quite filled up so I put all those shadows along with my HIP duos in the new 30 empty palette and the previous 20 empty palette I placed my La Femme blushes in them. I absolutely love palettes so having everything in one is so much more easier to access and find especially if I am on a hurry. BF-beauty sells 4 empty palette, so if you want to take out some of the duos for on the go you could purchase it for that. Here are pictures of my my lil project.

I hope this was helpful to some and please check out BF-Beauty for these palettes, they are super cheap and definitely holds more than the original 14 well palette that most people store their HIP duos in.

Nicka K HD

I am here again with a FOTD. I recently went to a Beauty Supply store (BSS) and of course had to see these eyeshadows. I am amazed at the pigmentation for such a brand. I have used products from this brand before but it was mostly lip liners. I don't know if you have heard of Nicka K they make different assortment of makeup products from the displays I have seen at the BSS. The price are below $2/piece but to me they are worth it. The eyeshadows are I used don't have names just similar numbers on the back of them. I got 4 of them and guess what they are HD eyeshadows.

Here we Go Again: A Sale U Say!!

I am here again to hit you all with a mini news. Well I have been reading Nouveau Cheap blog and saw her post about CVS having a 75% off sale again. You know me, I had to get there asap, so I went there with some knowledge of what to look, but I let the scanner be my friend because my CVS didn't have the signs posted up about the sale in the makeup aisle.

I stocked up my hand cart and then off to the scanner, scanning like a crazy girl. Well lovelies, L'oreal HIP have their eye crayon for $2.79, then L'oreal HIP pigments (only specific colors though). Also NYC liquid liner was down to $.49 but both my CVS was out of stock (sucks), as I really wanted a backup. Specific Rimmel lipsticks were below $2, L'Oreal Infallible products etc etc....

So I did swatches of the crayons and pigments I have purchased recently from the sale and before on Ebay.

Nicki Minaj Bedrock Inspired Makeup Look

This inspired look is from Nicki Minaj makeup in the Bedrock video. I always like Nicki's makeup looks, she doesn't shy from colors just like me. Being a WOC we tend to feel that we most bright bold colors don't look great on us especially when it comes to yellows and greens. This look will definitely show you that colors are here to play with.

However I am in no way or form saying I look like Nicki, because I don't and I know that. Being a fan of hers that's a whole other argument so please don't go there :)

Smokey Silver for Hooded Eyes

I have done several people makeup, mostly people within my family, but one essential in doing someone makeup is taking into consideration their eye shape. Each person as different eye shape and the application of makeup will be different on each person. Not everyone can identify their crease; which is the part on the eye that their eye socket and brow bone have the depth. With my eyes I have hooded eyes which are basically extra skin that covers the area of the crease and some parts of the lid when the eyes are open.

Here is my version of a silver smokey eye for hooded eyes like mines.
